The rise of the NBN (National Broadband Network) is on the horizon, so as a result, key Australian broadcasters are reconfiguring their options in relation to movement towards transmedia developments, and the way that they deliver television and video content via the Internet. ADSL2+ and high-speed cable connections in Australia are already facilitating these emerging media trends, however slower Internet connections and consequent lag have prevented the dominance of on-demand, however, with the onset of the NBN network, this should only help to facilitate a greater consumption of Australian television via computers or mobile devices.
